MSC Cruises is going to increase their ships

MSC Cruises company will spend $ 273 million to enlarge and modernize its class ship Lirica: Armonia, Lirica, Sinfonia and Opera.


Length of the ship is now 823 feet Weight – 60,000 tons and they can accommodate 2069 passengers. After repairing the ship length is 902 feet, weight – 65,000 tons and capacity – 2680 passengers. Each ship will be built 193 additional cabins.

Stores will be on board with new roomier interiors. And the new perfume will feature brands such as Dior, Lancome and Dolce & Gabbana.

The work will serve Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for the next two years.

Armonia will be repaired from 31 August to 17 November 2014, and Sinfonia – from 12 January to 16 March 2015, Opera – from May 2 to July 4, 2015, Lirica from 21 August to 9 November 2015.

Four ships of the class were built Lirica in 2003-2005 years in Saint-Nazaire, France.
