New hotel in Sri Lanka invites visitors

This year visitors Cultural Triangle, Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the cave temple Pidurangala can stay in a brand new four-star hotel Alia Resort & Spa in Sigiriya.


Named after the elephant (“aliyah” is translated into Sinhala), this brand new 96-room hotel has brought an investment of 1.4 billion rupees ($ 7.8 million) in the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka.

Aliya Resort & Spa consists of 68 deluxe rooms, 8 deluxe rooms with a loft, 2 suites and 18 luxury tents.

Chairman and Managing Director Aliya Resort & Spa Chandra Wickramasinghe said: “Aliya Resort & Spa is a fusion of many old and new things. We want to give anyone who stays here, the true sense of village life in Sri Lanka, as we’re right in the countryside . Thus, despite its modernity, Aliya Resort is in harmony with the villages of Sigiriya and easy carefree way of life of people who live here. “

The hotel has a minimalist design. The decor consists of absolutely white walls, antique doors and colorful relics of the past. Architecture successfully links the interior with landscapes; everywhere – windows from floor to ceiling.

Other services include Resort & Spa conference hall and meeting rooms, well-equipped gym, two swimming pools, Ayurveda Spa, with physician services for personalized treatment, three restaurants, a bar and coffee shop, nightclub and karaoke club and indoor court Badminton.

Lounge bar Alia “Migara” day and night visitors will enjoy panoramic views of the landscape. “Makar” brings to life the atmosphere of the east with its exquisite Chinese cuisine. “Gain” – a specialty restaurant, which is next to the Museum of Paddy and offers a varied selection of delicious local dishes.
