Briscoe Western Art Museum, located in a neoclassical building on the historic waterfront of downtown San Antonio , opens on Saturday, October 26.
The new museum in San Antonio visitors can learn about cowboys , Indians, and the Vaqueros – an area that used to belong to Mexico. It houses 700 works of art and artifacts that reflect the spirit of the West. Among them – the last seat of Pancho Villa and a sword that belonged to General Santa Anna .
During the opening ceremony will be various cultural events such as performances of riders and local dance groups , presentation of works of art and taste the local dishes cooked on a camp kitchen.
On Saturday and Sunday admission is free.
