In Thailand, a tourist from the United States died

Thai police reported that an American tourist died after being trampled to death elephants in a national park.

U.S. Embassy in Bangkok confirmed the death but did not inform the details.

Colonel Woradet Suanklaai Police said the woman went missing on January 13 in the National Park Kaenh Krachan in Phetchaburi province west.

He said the rescuers found her battered body in the woods five days later. Judging from serious injuries, it was probably trampled elephants.

Colonel Woradet reported that a woman traveling alone. The police sent the body to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Bangkok to determine the cause of death.
